Penerapan Teknologi Tepat Guna dalam Meningkatkan Produktivitas dan Pemasaran Rumput Laut bagi Masyarakat Pesisir Desa Pongko

Kelompok Tani Rumput Laut Katonik III di Dusun Sepakat, Desa Pongko, Kecamatan Bone-Bone, Kabupaten Luwu Utara merupakan kelompok petani pembudidaya rumput laut jenis Eucheuma cottonii yang selama ini menghadapi persoalan hulu-hilir, mulai dari lemahnya pemantauan kualitas air, metode pengeringan pascapanen yang tradisional dan sangat bergantung pada cuaca, minimnya diversifikasi produk olahan, hingga sistem pemasaran yang masih sepenuhnya bertumpu pada pengepul dan pedagang pengumpul. Kondisi ini menyebabkan kualitas rumput laut kering rendah dan harga jual tertekan pada kisaran Rp13.000/kg. Program Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PKM) ini bertujuan meningkatkan produktivitas, kualitas hasil panen, serta kemampuan pemasaran mitra melalui penerapan Teknologi Tepat Guna (TTG) dan peningkatan pengetahuan serta keterampilan mitra. Kegiatan dilaksanakan dengan pendekatan Rational Unified Process (RUP) melalui empat tahap, yaitu inception, elaboration, construction, dan transition. Kegiatan ini mencakup sosialisasi budidaya dan penanganan hama-penyakit, pelatihan dan pendampingan penggunaan alat ukur salinitas Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), penerapan teknologi pengering Solar Dome Dryer dan alat Jet Water pembersih tali bentangan, pelatihan diversifikasi olahan rumput laut menjadi jeli dan keripik, serta pelatihan strategi pemasaran berbasis e-commerce dan media sosial. Hasil pelaksanaan menunjukkan bahwa seluruh perangkat TTG telah diserahkan dan diaplikasikan langsung oleh mitra dalam kegiatan produksi harian, pengetahuan dan keterampilan mitra pada aspek budidaya, pascapanen, pengolahan, dan pemasaran meningkat, serta mitra memperoleh alternatif sumber pendapatan baru di luar penjualan rumput laut kering. Kegiatan ini diharapkan menjadi langkah awal terbentuknya sistem produksi dan pemasaran rumput laut yang lebih mandiri dan berkelanjutan bagi masyarakat pesisir Desa Pongko.
