Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peran penyuluh pertanian terhadap usahatani padi di Desa Cendana Hitam Timur Kecamatan Tomoni Timur Kabupaten Luwu Timur. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif. Data yang diperoleh melalui tahap observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi yang dianalisis dengan menggunakan model analisis interaktif. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan sistem purposive sampling. Penelitian ini menggunkaan dua data yaitu data sekunder dan data primer yang diperoleh dengan pengamatan langsung dengan menggunakan instrumen penelitian. Adapun sampel dari penelitian ini yaitu sebanyak 32 orang responden dimana terdapat 13 orang ketua kelompok tani, 17 orang petani dan 2 orang penyuluh. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Peran Penyuluh Pertanian Terhadap Produktivitas Usahatani Padi di Desa Cendana Hitam Timur Kecamatan Tomoni Timur Kabupaten Luwu Timur dapat dikatakan sudah baik, hal ini dapat dilihat dari peran penyuluh  dalam membantu petani untuk mendapatkan bibit padi unggul bersertifikat serta pupuk bersubsidi, penyuluh juga mampu menjalankan perannya dalam hal memberikan edukasi atau pendidikan non formal kepada para petani, sebagai konsultan yang baik bagi para petani, serta dapat memberikan evaluasi mengenai kinerja setiap pengurus kelompok tani dalam semusim mengurus kelompok tani mereka. Namun ada beberapa peran yang belum sepenuhnya dijalankan dengan baik oleh penyuluh pertanian, diantaranya yaitu penyuluh belum menjalankan perannya dengan baik dalam hal memberikan bimbingan kepada petani, memberikan informasi kepada petani melalui kerjasama dengan dinas pertanian, sebagai pemantau dimana penyuluh sangat jarang dan kurang aktif untuk bersosialisasi dengan petani secara langsung di lapangan, serta penyuluh belum menjalankan tugasnya dengan baik sebagai konsultan dan sebagai pembimbing dibeberapa kelompok tani yang ada di Desa Cendana Hitam Timur
