Pengaruh Kenaikan Harga Kakao terhadap Perubahan Sosial Petani di Desa Sumabu Kabupaten Luwu

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan menganalisis pengaruh kenaikan harga komoditas kakao terhadap dampak sosial petani di Desa Sumabu Kecamatan Bajo Kabupaten Luwu. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kuantitatif dengan pendekatan survei. Sampel penelitian ini sebanyak 20 petani kakao yang dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling berdasarkan kriteria tertentu. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara, kuesioner, dan dokumentasi. Analisis data menggunakan uji validitas, uji reliabilitas, regresi linear sederhana, uji t, dan koefisien determinasi (R2) dengan bantuan program SPSS. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kenaikan harga kakao memberikan dampak positif terhadap kondisi sosial-ekonomi petani, terutama dalam peningkatan pendapatan, kesejahteraan keluarga, serta kemampuan memenuhi kebutuhan pendidikan dan kesehatan. Namun demikian, kenaikan harga kakao juga menimbulkan dampak sosial negative berupa meningkatnya pencurian hasil panen, konflik antarpetani, serta kecemburuan sosial akibat ketimpangan pendapatan antara petani besar dan petani kecil. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa kenaikan harga kakao memiliki hubungan positif terhadap dampak sosial petani meskipun pengaruhnya tidak signifikan secara statistik. Dengan demikian, kenaikan harga kakao tidak hanya memengaruhi aspek ekonomi, tetapi juga berdampak terhadap dinamika sosial masyarakat pedesaan.
