Publishing Process
JEKAMI: Journal of Accounting

1. Manuscript Submission
Authors must submit their manuscripts online through the JEKAMI Journal submission system using the provided journal template.
Each submission must include:

A complete manuscript (prepared according to the Author Guidelines)
-
An Author Statement Form
-
An Ethics and Copyright Declaration
Submissions via email will not be accepted. The editorial team will acknowledge receipt of each submission via the OJS platform.
2. Initial Screening (Editorial Evaluation)
Every manuscript received will undergo an initial evaluation by the Editor-in-Chief or Section Editor to ensure:

Alignment with the Focus and Scope of the journal.

Compliance with Author Guidelines and Formatting Requirements.
-
Adherence to ethical publication standards.
At this stage, manuscripts will also be checked for plagiarism using Turnitin or iThenticate.
Only manuscripts with a similarity index below 20% will proceed to the peer review stage.
3. Peer Review Process
Manuscripts passing the initial screening are sent to two independent reviewers through a double-blind peer review process (see Peer Review Process page).
Each reviewer evaluates the manuscript based on:

Originality and significance of contribution

Clarity and structure of the manuscript
-
Theoretical and methodological soundness
-
Relevance to accounting and finance fields
Reviewers will provide one of the following recommendations:

Accept without revision
-
Accept with minor revision
-
Resubmit after major revision
-
Reject
The editorial team will notify authors of the results and provide reviewer feedback for necessary revisions.
4. Revision Stage
Authors are required to:

Address all reviewer comments systematically and clearly.
-
Highlight changes in the manuscript using track changes or a response letter.
-
Resubmit the revised manuscript within the given timeframe (usually 2–4 weeks).
Revised manuscripts may be re-evaluated by the same reviewers before a final editorial decision is made.
5. Editorial Decision
Based on reviewer recommendations and editorial assessment, the Editor-in-Chief will make the final decision:

Accept for publication

Request further revision
-
Reject
Authors will be notified of the decision via the OJS system. All accepted manuscripts proceed to the production stage.
6. Copyediting and Proofreading
Accepted manuscripts will undergo professional copyediting and proofreading to ensure:

Language accuracy and readability
-
Consistency in citation style and format (APA or as defined)
-
Layout conformity to the JEKAMI template
Authors are responsible for reviewing and approving the final proofs before publication.
7. Publication and DOI Registration
Once the final version is approved:

The article will be published in the upcoming issue (January or July).

Each article will receive a unique DOI (Digital Object Identifier) registered via CrossRef.

Articles are made immediately open access on the JEKAMI website under the CC BY-SA 4.0 license.
8. Indexing and Archiving
Published articles are indexed and archived in reputable databases such as CrossRef, DOAJ, Dimensions, Index Copernicus, RePEc, and WorldCat, ensuring visibility and long-term preservation.
9. Post-Publication Policy
Any post-publication issues such as erratum, retraction, or correction will be handled transparently according to COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines.
Authors and readers may report post-publication concerns to the editorial office for evaluation.
10. Publication Timeline

Submission to First Decision: 2–4 weeks

Peer Review Duration: 4–8 weeks

Revision and Final Decision: 2–4 weeks

Total Average Time to Publication: Approximately 12–16 weeks
