Inovasi Teknologi Produksi dan Olahan Sagu Sebagai Sumber Pangan Bergizi di Desa Waelawi Kecamatan Malangke Barat Kabupaten Luwu Utara

Tanaman sagu (Metroxylon sagu Rottb.) memiliki potensi besar sebagai sumber pangan alternatif sekaligus penggerak ekonomi lokal, namun pengelolaannya di Desa Waelawi, Kecamatan Malangke Barat, Kabupaten Luwu Utara, masih dilakukan secara tradisional dengan produktivitas rendah dan minim diversifikasi produk. Kondisi ini menyebabkan nilai tambah sagu belum optimal serta pemasaran terbatas hanya di pasar lokal, sehingga kontribusinya terhadap kesejahteraan petani masih rendah. Untuk menjawab permasalahan tersebut, Program Pemberdayaan Kepada Masyarakat (PKM) ini dirancang dengan tujuan meningkatkan produktivitas, keterampilan diversifikasi olahan, dan memperkuat pemasaran berbasis digital. Metode yang digunakan adalah Participatory Learning and Action (PLA) yang menekankan keterlibatan aktif petani dalam seluruh tahapan, mulai dari sosialisasi, pelatihan, transfer teknologi tepat guna (mesin ekstraksi pati, pemarut termodifikasi, mesin mie, vacuum sealer), hingga pendampingan berkelanjutan. Hasil pelaksanaan program menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan dalam kapasitas produksi pati, penguasaan keterampilan pembuatan produk olahan seperti mie sagu, cireng, keripik, dan kue kering, serta peningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan mitra hingga 96% berdasarkan hasil pre-test dan post-test. Selain berdampak pada peningkatan produktivitas dan peluang ekonomi baru, program ini juga memperkuat kerjasama kelompok, meningkatkan peran perempuan dalam kegiatan ekonomi, serta menumbuhkan optimisme masyarakat untuk mengembangkan sagu sebagai komoditas unggulan daerah yang berdaya saing tinggi.
