Penerapan dan Sosialisasi Teknologi Pengering Efek Rumah Kaca dan Fermentasi Bertingkat Biji Kakao

Kelompok Tani Mitra Tani Bassiang di Desa Bassiang, Kecamatan Ponrang Selatan, Kabupaten Luwu, menghadapi persoalan rendahnya nilai jual biji kakao akibat praktik pascapanen yang masih konvensional. Sebanyak 95% anggota menjual biji kakao dalam bentuk asalan (non-fermentasi) dan proses pengeringan masih dilakukan dengan menjemur di pinggir jalan atau beralaskan terpal tipis selama 5-7 hari sehingga rentan terkontaminasi. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan menerapkan dan mensosialisasikan teknologi pengering berbasis Efek Rumah Kaca (ERK) dan teknologi kotak fermentasi bertingkat kepada mitra. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi survei dan koordinasi awal, sosialisasi dan penyuluhan, serta pengenalan langsung (demonstrasi) kedua teknologi kepada anggota kelompok tani. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman mitra terhadap standar mutu biji kakao fermentasi sesuai SNI 2323:2008 serta manfaat teknologi pengeringan higienis yang mempersingkat waktu pengeringan dan menekan risiko kontaminasi. Peserta menyambut positif kedua teknologi ini sebagai solusi atas rendahnya harga jual biji kakao asalan. Kegiatan ini menjadi langkah awal bagi penerapan teknologi secara penuh pada tahap pengabdian berikutnya, guna meningkatkan nilai tambah kakao dan kesejahteraan petani di Desa Bassiang.
