Implementasi Mesin Penarik dan Pemisah Rumput Laut Otomatis Berbasis PLC untuk Meningkatkan Efisiensi Pascapanen dan Diversifikasi Produk pada Kelompok Tani Katonik Lamangoa di Desa Bawalipu Kabupaten Luwu Timur

Rumput laut merupakan salah satu komoditas unggulan masyarakat pesisir Kabupaten Luwu Timur yang memiliki kontribusi penting terhadap pendapatan rumah tangga petani. Namun demikian, proses pascapanen yang masih dilakukan secara manual menyebabkan rendahnya efisiensi kerja, tingginya kebutuhan tenaga kerja, serta rendahnya kualitas hasil pengolahan. Selain itu, pemanfaatan rumput laut masih terbatas pada penjualan bahan mentah sehingga nilai tambah ekonomi yang diperoleh petani relatif rendah. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan efisiensi proses pascapanen melalui penerapan mesin penarik dan pemisah rumput laut otomatis berbasis Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), sekaligus meningkatkan kapasitas mitra dalam diversifikasi produk olahan rumput laut. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi koordinasi dengan mitra, survei lapangan, perancangan dan pembuatan mesin, uji coba alat, sosialisasi, pelatihan pengoperasian mesin, pendampingan penggunaan alat, pelatihan diversifikasi produk, monitoring, dan evaluasi. Mitra kegiatan adalah Kelompok Tani Katonik Lamangoa yang berjumlah 12 orang di Desa Bawalipu, Kecamatan Wotu, Kabupaten Luwu Timur. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa mesin yang dikembangkan mampu mempercepat proses pelepasan rumput laut dibandingkan metode manual serta mengurangi beban kerja petani. Program juga menghasilkan diversifikasi produk berupa keripik rumput laut dan dodol rumput laut dengan kemasan yang lebih menarik. Evaluasi menggunakan pre-test dan post-test menunjukkan peningkatan rata-rata kemampuan peserta dari 27,6% menjadi 85,4%, dengan nilai N-Gain sebesar 0,80 yang termasuk kategori tinggi. Hasil tersebut menunjukkan bahwa penerapan teknologi berbasis PLC yang dipadukan dengan pelatihan dan pendampingan mampu meningkatkan pengetahuan, keterampilan, produktivitas, dan nilai tambah usaha masyarakat
