1. General Statement

Agency Journal of Management and Business (AJMB) upholds the highest standards of academic integrity and publication ethics. Plagiarism in any form constitutes unethical publishing behavior and is unacceptable. All manuscripts submitted to AJMB must be the original work of the author(s) and must not have been published or submitted elsewhere.

2. Definition of Plagiarism

Plagiarism involves the use of another person’s ideas, processes, results, or words without appropriate acknowledgment. AJMB considers the following actions as forms of plagiarism:

  1. Direct Plagiarism: Copying text word-for-word from another source without quotation marks or citation.

  2. Self-Plagiarism: Republishing or reusing substantial parts of one’s own previously published work without acknowledgment or proper citation.

  3. Mosaic Plagiarism: Borrowing phrases, ideas, or data from a source without proper attribution or altering only a few words.

  4. Accidental Plagiarism: Failing to cite sources correctly or unintentionally presenting another’s work as one’s own.

3. Plagiarism Screening Process

  • All manuscripts submitted to AJMB are checked for plagiarism using Turnitin or equivalent similarity detection software before the peer-review process.

  • The similarity index threshold for acceptance is below 20%.

  • Manuscripts exceeding this threshold will be returned to the author(s) for revision or rejected depending on the severity of the plagiarism.

  • Editors may conduct additional checks at any stage of the publication process if plagiarism is suspected.

4. Handling Plagiarism

If plagiarism is detected after publication, the Editorial Board will take appropriate actions, which may include:

  1. Issuing a formal retraction or correction of the article.

  2. Informing the author’s institution or funding agency of the ethical violation.

  3. Blacklisting the author(s) from future publication in AJMB.

5. Author Responsibility

Authors are fully responsible for ensuring that their work is original and properly cited. The inclusion of third-party materials (such as figures, tables, or text) must be accompanied by proper permission and acknowledgment.

6. Ethical Reference

This policy aligns with the ethical guidelines of:

  • COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics)

  • Elsevier Publishing Ethics Resource Kit (PERK)

  • Scopus Publication Ethics Policy
