Agency Journal of Management and Business (AJMB) upholds the highest standards of publication ethics and takes all possible measures against any publication malpractice. The journal adheres strictly to the guidelines established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and ensures that all parties involved in the publication process—authors, editors, reviewers, and publishers—maintain the integrity of academic publication.

Ethical behavior is expected of all parties involved in the publication process: the author(s), editorial board, peer reviewer(s), and the publisher (Pustaka Digital Indonesia).

1. Duties of Authors

Authors are responsible for the originality and integrity of their work and must adhere to the following principles:

  • Originality and Plagiarism:
Authors must ensure that their manuscripts are entirely original and properly cite or quote the work and/or words of others. Submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal concurrently constitutes unethical publishing behavior.

  • Data Accuracy:
Authors must present accurate data and ensure that the results are represented clearly. Fabrication, falsification, or manipulation of data is considered research misconduct.

  • Authorship:
Authorship should be limited to those who have made significant contributions to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the study. All contributors who have made substantial contributions must be listed as co-authors.

  • Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest:
Authors should disclose any financial or personal relationships that could influence their work.

  • Acknowledgment of Sources:
Proper acknowledgment of the work of others must always be given.

  • Ethical Standards:
Research involving humans or animals must comply with institutional and national ethical guidelines and include an ethics statement if required.

  • Corrections:
Authors must promptly inform the editor if a significant error is discovered in their published work and cooperate in issuing a correction or retraction if necessary.

2. Duties of Editors

Editors are responsible for maintaining academic integrity and ensuring fair, objective, and timely editorial decisions. They must:

  • Fair Play:
Evaluate manuscripts solely based on their intellectual content, regardless of the author’s race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, or political philosophy.

  • Confidentiality:
Maintain confidentiality of all submitted manuscripts and ensure that information is not disclosed to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, or other editorial advisers.

  • Conflict of Interest:
Editors must recuse themselves from handling manuscripts in which they have a conflict of interest.

  • Decision Making:
The Editor-in-Chief has full responsibility and authority to decide which manuscripts are accepted or rejected for publication, based on reviewers’ recommendations and editorial standards.

  • Ethical Oversight:
Editors should take responsive measures when ethical complaints have been presented concerning a submitted or published paper.

3. Duties of Reviewers

Peer reviewers play a crucial role in ensuring the quality of the journal’s content. Reviewers are expected to:

  • Confidentiality:
Treat all manuscripts as confidential documents and not disclose any information about the content to others.

  • Objectivity:
Provide objective, constructive, and timely feedback that helps authors improve their manuscripts. Personal criticism of the author is inappropriate.

  • Acknowledgment of Sources:
Identify relevant published work that has not been cited by the authors and alert the editor to any substantial similarity or overlap with other published papers.

  • Conflict of Interest:
Decline to review manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest resulting from competitive, collaborative, or other relationships with any of the authors or institutions associated with the papers.

4. Duties of the Publisher

As the publisher, Pustaka Digital Indonesia is committed to ensuring that ethical publishing standards are maintained at all stages of the publication process. The publisher:

  • Supports the editorial board in maintaining academic integrity and quality.

  • Ensures permanent availability and preservation of published content through digital archiving.

  • Takes appropriate action if ethical misconduct is identified, including correction, retraction, or expression of concern as necessary.

5. Ethical Oversight and Misconduct Handling

If ethical misconduct such as plagiarism, falsification, or authorship manipulation is suspected or proven, the journal will follow COPE flowcharts to guide actions, including:

  • Issuing warnings to authors.

  • Requesting manuscript corrections.

  • Retracting articles if necessary.

  • Reporting serious cases to authors’ institutions.

6. Compliance with COPE Guidelines

All publication decisions and ethical issues in Agency Journal of Management and Business follow the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE)https://publicationethics.org.
